waking up on stomach

I have been waking up on my stomach lately and am wondering if this is causing harm. Im not completely on my stomach. Kind of laying on my side and half my stomach.

I've been waking up on my back recently and they say you're not supposed to sleep like that either... So the way i see it, your body would make you move if it was affecting you or your baby. That's like you roll around in your sleep and switch positions without even knowing most of the time so i assume your body would do it in this situation too.

I hear a lot of people saying this but its not necessarily true. A friend of mine was getting really dizzy spells and nausea. She went to the doctor and she was fine they couldn't figure out why this was happening to her. Eventually the doctor asked if she was sleeping on her back and she was. She stopped and was completely fine after!

I sleep more on my left side of the stomach, i have to lean forward to the left with most of my weight on the stomach, some nights LO kicks like crazy and wakes me up but most nights we are both comfortable, i tried pillows between my legs and on my tummy and they dont work.

I do the same thing! I try to lean more towards my back but I always seem to be on my side but leaning a little forward putting some pressure on my belly. I am almost 39 weeks though and all has been fine....so I guess I haven't smooshed him

If you can still sleep on your tummy it's fine. You are not causing any harm. The only concern is sleeping on your back b/c the main artery that brings oxygen and blood to the baby gets cut off when you do that. however you'll feel uncomfortable long before it does anything to the baby. I use to wake up on my back all the time. You just roll onto your left side and go back to sleep. No big deal.
