Has anyone had something similar happen?

About 130am I started having contractions... they lasted until 630am so I called ob. They told me to go to labor and delivery. I arrived at l&d at 830, got hooked up to be monitored, great contractions every 3-4 minutes, and when checked I was at 3cm.
They took me to my birth room, and there I sat having contractions. Well, about 130pm... my contractions stop altogether for the most part. We waited for them to start back, but they didn't so we started a pictocin drip (no epidural or anything) at about 630pm. I was on it until 3am... contractions every 2 minutes. My cervix only dilated to a 4. I am stuck at 4cm, 70%effaced, and -2 station.
When they took me off pictocin at 3 am, the contractions stopped again.
How could I have been in such great labor for 12 hours, dilate to 3... then everything just STOP?!?!
I just came home... nothing, no contractions hardly at all.

they offered me an epidural, but said that if i continued to not progress, then i would have to have cesarean because of the epidural... i opted out of that.. its the next morning after i was discharged and still nothing.
feeling like a bit of a failure. they even gave me paperwork on how to know real labor... LOL!

My SIL had this for about 2 weeks

She kept getting sent home, then told to come back, then sent home again, etc.... She was having regular contractions the whole time but not dilating any further than 3cm, eventually she went back in and things started happening pretty quickly. Really hope it doesn't turn out like that for you and it gets somewhere soon!
