Sore tail bone :(

My coccyx (tail bone, right at the bottom of the spine) is so sore when I have been sitting down, has anyone else found this? Is there anything I can do to prevent it?

I'm sat up straight at my desk yet I know that when I stand up it will be agony for a moment or two and then just ache I really hate it! I need the loo and can't face getting up. When I was making tea earlier I checked the chicken without getting up from the chair, rather I wheeled myself to the oven xx

My tailbone has been really sore the last couple weeks too, and sitting down does seem to make it worse (once you stand up). I have no idea why, other than obviously the baby putting more pressure on everything in there. It's caused me to limp around a bit.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's much we can do. I actually rolled onto my back yesterday and today, to get out of bed, and almost burst out in tears! I got these shooting pains in my tailbone that were almost unbearable. I never had pains like this with my first daughter, so I have no idea. Sorry, not much help.
Just know that you aren't alone!

Ive had this symptom since I found out I was pregnant! I thought I was going crazy, but it must be from the hips moving or something, because no matter how I sit, it gets sore! It hasnt been too bad, but just an ache enough to not want to sit down!

I had it on and off during 2nd tri and now I'm in 3rd tri it won't leave me alone! I feel sorry for you having it all the way through

I look so funny trying to get out of the car after a long journey though! I have a pillow which comes everywhere with me which did help a little but its' magic is wearing off I think xx

You should get a birthing ball and bounce around on that, it helps a lot

I've had this since July (about 14 weeks), especially when we've flown long haul a couple of times. It's complete agony when you sit on a hard surface for too long and then stand up. Its something to do with your centre of gravity shifting due to the extra weight on your front, putting more pressure on your tailbone. Nice! I've just developed excrutiating pain in my left hip when walking/standing/pretty much anything...the joys of pregnancy!

I've been told a "donut" that you would use if you have hemmroids (sp) works wonders to help when you have to sit for longer periods - and definately to use your ball!

Oh God I've had this and it's soooo sore! It's actually been the most painful pregnancy symptom I've had!

I asked my consultant about it the other day and he just laughed (in a nice way) and said unfortunately it's just part and parcel of the whole pregnancy game!

xxx
