Mini Pill feedback please?

Has anyone been on this for a extended period of time?

Effectiveness? side effects?

Im planning on BF and cant take the normal pill, so wondering just how good the mini pill is if anyone can give me some feedback?

Dont want to get pregnant again for a few years!!!

Wasn't on it for an extended period but for a reason! Took it I think for 3 months with no period, then came on and basically bled until I made the decision to stop taking it. By this time I had been bleeding for just over 3 weeks. I know it can take time for things to settle but I couldln't cope with that.

Also made me really cranky and I totally lost my sex drive!

took it for about a year after having dd- it made my milk supply low so whenever dh was gone for awhile (he is military) i didnt take it- the only thing is you have to take it at exactly the same time every day- if you forget and miss it by a few hours you arent protected for a few days! i get extra hormonal on any type of BC and this one has less hormones but i still felt the affects- this time i think i will do mirena

The one I took (Cerrazette) still had the 12 hour window to take it.

Progesterone only BC doesn't agree with me, tried the depo injection too. I am stuffed whilst bf basically

12 hour window would be nice- the one i took was generic mini pop pill dont know the name but both the doc and all the paperwork with it said you only have a 2 hour window (like an hour before and after) it was pretty strict

Yeah I am sure others are like 3 hours I have heard here, I would be rubbish with that!! Condoms for me until i stop bf'ing then on to the combined pill which has always been perfect for me (except in Feb when I couldn't get a dr's appointment lol!!)

Thanks girls

Just as i thought. I heard it wasnt very reliable.

I had no problems with the normal pill, on it for like 15 years and never got pregnant.

But the mini pill doesnt sound like a good idea.

Im really stumped as to what to do for contraception while breast feeding.

I took it for a very short time after having my LO, stopped because I was bleeding on and off the whole time I was on it and I just couldn't be doing with it. Plus being sleep deprived I struggled to remember to take it.

Im thinking about the coil this time
