4/5 engaged?

Hi Ladies,

i went to see the mw this morning and baby katie is 4/5 engaged, 2 weeks ago she was 2/5 engaged. does this mean i could be meeting her sooner rather than later? x

not necessarily but it's a good sign that baby is going in the right direction

(assuming they really mean 4/5ths engaged and not 4/5ths palpable which is what a lot of midwives use and means 1/5th in the pelvis)

Yer they can engage then disengage, fingers crossed for you that your baby stays 5/5 for you

Chunk was 3/5ths engaged 2 weeks ago and has been breech the past week

But it certainly sounds promising but doesn;t mean anything when it comes to going in to labour x

My NCT teacher told me that the baby being engaged is like when someone gets engaged to get married - no set amount of time inbetween, can vary loads!

my next door neighbour was fully engaged at 35 weeks and she is due today and still havent popped, i was 3/5 at 38 weeks and now 2 days over due x
