High White Blood Cell Count

Just been to the doctors, my latest bloods have come back. Apparently my white blood cell count is high so she's having me get it re-tested to see if it changes.

Was a bit distracted while I was there and a bit surprised, so I didn't really think to ask? I know it's most likely all fiiine, but I'm just the sort of person who likes to be well prepared..

Does anyone know what a high white blood cell count in pregnancy could indicate? I'm otherwise healthy apart from stress & slight depression.

I had it back in first tri, it basicly means your body is fighting something. If you have had a cold or sniffle in the last 6 weeks that would explain it. Your immune system is just doing what its supposed to.

An increased WBC count is indicative of an infection.
