reduced movements 37 weeks

I am a bit worried about baby's movements in the last week or so, he doesn't seem to kick alot he does occasional wiggles but nothing big like kicking etc. Is this normal at this stage or should he still be moving a fair bit? My midwife said i should be feeling 10 movements a day but usually the 10 movements i feel are only him doing a wee wiggle

Hi-I am new on here and very pleased i found this site! I am 36w3d, and have had similar concerns to you. Apparently, the movements can be less noticebale later on due to "running out of room".

I also know that i stress too much about it and if i really think about i have probably had more movements than i think. If I am busy and moving around a lot i tend not feel anything untill i have settled down to rest.

HOWEVER, if you are concerned there is no reaosn why you should not call your midwife. I used to feel silly doing this but they are there to help and advise! I have never had a baby before so hoe would i know???

This is my first time so i have probably been useless in helping but if you are concerend please call your midwife!

It is quite normal just to feel squirms and wriggles at 37 weeks, there isn't a lot of room in there now! If you're worried though call your midwife xxx

I have started to experience this to,especialy this morning when i normaly wake to feeling starving and she is normaly wriggling about, but this morning i woke not hungry and no movements even after i got up and had a sweet hot drink, was worried until i about an hr later when i felt a rumble earthquake, lol now she just gives of the odd thud instead of kicking, prob not much room in there or she engaged and comfy, id say not to wry to much unless you dont feel her/him move for a while.

i think there is less room to move so you won't feel the intensive kicks like before, but monitoring your babies movement is important. i've been to the hospital once as i had very little movement. don't sit at home worrying hun, always ring. the mw are well use to ladies ringing up, it will put your mind at ease xxxxxx

Hey,

Im not as far along as your but I am also noticing the same thing. I know Baby Shane has turned around and is head down (as of last ultrasound) and his movement has changed a lot since he turned. I feel pushing and squirming the most. I also sometimes feel poking around the bottom of my uterus like he is literally taking his fingers and prodding around. I feel only the occasional kick though. I havent been paricularly concerned as I am still feeling him (I hope I am correct in feeling this way )

I figure as long as im feeling him throughout the day then all is ok. I have an appointment this week and was planning to mention it then just to make sure. :-/

i asked my midwife about this, as i have started to notice his movements change, i find hes moving just as much, if not more, but there are very few wild crazy movements now as he has so little room. its more taps and pressure and usualy all in the same place.
never hesitate to call when worried though. xx

Thanks ladies, i will keep an eye on it but i think he is just running out of room in there. He is 3/5 engaged so he probably can't move alot
