I was eating around 1200 calories only before I got pregnant. I was overly health conscience and was trying to maintain my weight. Now it varies between 1700 - 2000. Once in a while I will completely eat everything in sight though, probably when bubs is having a growth spurt. Don't worry about it

he he, I bet some days I do 3000 lol.
I think about 2000 would be a good amount for my size - 1700 for my pre-pregnancy size and then 300 needed in final trimester for bubs.

thanks for your help ladies.. i guess i am just worried because we have a doctor friend and when he found out that i was eating 2000 calories a day he was like.... ARE YOU NUTS YOUR BABY WILL NOT MAKE IT YOU NEED AT LEAST 2500!! well the 2500 had me gaining about 8 pounds a month!! so i cut it down a bit and then started losing weight.. i guess i just have to find a happy median...

I used to count calories b4 i get pregnant but no more just trying to eat healthy ....If you start counting calories while pregnant its gonna drive you mad U should try having small quantities at many times during the day like fromage frais ( if you like it) try soups ( nice and healthy) Try having stuffs easy to eat... And if you just dont feel like eating dont force yourself i dont think it would be good for you or baby

I used to try and stick to 1200 if trying to lose a bit of weight before I was pregnant and maybe 1400 if staying the same...

Now I reckon I probably have 2,000 calories a day on an average day - if Im going out for dinner then its probably a bit more and then on other days if Im fancying lots of fruit etc then it might be less... To be honest Im not worrying about calories at the moment in the slightest - Ill be dieting/healthy eating once LO is safely here!
