Do I have all I need for the hospital??

Okay... I've packed both bags... mine and babys. Check to see if i'm missing anything or have enough. Up for any suggestions please! Scary as I'm gonna be a first time mum and don't know what to expect!

My bag:
1 towel, handtowel and flannel
1 night gown
1 pair of pj's
5 pairs of underwear (cheap & black)
1 outfit to go home in (ive got socks... i dont need extra underwear do I?)
1 pair of fluffy socks to wear while in hospital, might get some cheap slippers instead
Bag of toiletries
1pck of 10 maternity pads (Is that enough?)

Baby's Bag:
Nipple cream
Breast Pads (A few sets of them)
2 long sleeve vest & 2 short sleeve vest
2 baby grows with feet
6 or 8 nappies
wipes & nappy cream (just in case)
Nappy Bags
Anti Bac gel/wipes
Blanket

Am I missing anything from either or do I have enough??? I still need to get some maternity bras might get the kind that are just the sleep ones that fit a range of sizes as it would be easier at the moment.

I did think about the dressing gown, but i never wear one when I'm at home so I'm not sure if id use it at the hospital or not. The camera is the last minute pack as I use it all the time.

wat about hair brush, toothbrush, tooth paste shower gel shampoo, deodorant i bought all the small ones u can get in asda for traveling, depends how long u in for too but b prepared that if u go to late in the day they won't offer 6hr discharge in some places so could b in until following day. would def take in more maternity pads i always have to use two at a time and they don't last long, take in another 10 if i were u, also think of takin in a bottle of water and if u could even take in a cereal bar or somethin that will b ok in your bag from now untill u go in, wen i was moved to main ward, i was left for ages without a drink or anythin to eat the last time so i'm addin them to my bag this time just in case. i'm prob someone who ends up over prepared but i would take in few more nappies too and don't no if u have though of coat or snow suit for wen u will b bringing baby home.

I think you def need more PJs/nighties. What are you giving birth in? I have 2 pairs of pjs and 2 nighties. I don't plan to stay in overnight (unless I have baby during the night) but I hear you can leak blood after so may need to change. Plus if you are admitted before your waters break you might need a change if they dnt break your waters for you.

Def toiletries. I got some miniatures from boots - take up less space.

I have 10 pairs of knickers. Cheapy ones like yours. I have slipper socks and 4 pairs of black socks.

I would say more nappies too. I've been told a pack of newborn - so I have 27! Prob a bit extreme lol but if I do have to stay more than a day for complications etc I have plenty as they say average 10 a day.

I have 20 maternity pads. 2 packs of boots own.

I have scratch mits, hats, bibs and muslin squares too. Sounds like a lot but only 2 of each. I am using the bag that comes with my pram for the baby and this all fits in nicely. I have cotton wool pleats as well as wipes as I know they are funny about using wipes at first.

I also have milton wipes, straws, camera and snacks in my bag.

I sound like I have packed the kitchen sink but I can assure you I only have a regular size holdal from Argos. nothing bigger than what some people take to the gym.
x

don't worry bout the size of your bag cause no word of a lie i have seen people in with large suitcases in the past lol. I use the changin bag for the babies things too and then a holdall for myself, i always take in a book or somethin to cause u get bored really really easy and the baby can b very sleepy after its born dependin on the birth. I always pack wat the baby will wear wens its born (vest, babygrow, hat and mits) in the wee messy bag u get in the changin bag along with a nappy cause i remember wen my second was born they had to pull everythin out of the bag to find everythin they needed to put on the baby lol it was alot handier wen i had it all in the little bag at the top of the changin bag. i had my first 6 weeks early so wasn't prepared with anythin.

defo more nappies incase you are in longer, as others have said too more pjs/nighty, and more maternity pads/breast pads as you dont know how much your gona leak!
Also hat, socks, bibs and maybe coat for baby as id think its gona be cold when your takin the baby home!

Id just take double of what u expect to use, ur OH can always take stuff home earlier if too much but better too much than not enough!
