Can you have a bath once your waters have broken?

Just wondering if you can have a bath once your waters have gone? I want to shave my legs and down there before i go into hospital as i cant stand being hairy and wouldnt want anyone seeing me hairy! Im having a bath everynight atm and shaving but i really cant be bothered to keep up with it anymore!
I mean we have water births dont we so we should be able to have a bath shouldnt we? Someone told me i shouldnt have a bath if my waters go as theres a risk of infection but surely it should be ok??

It's fine to get in the bath after your waters have gone. I'd just be careful about using products like bubble bath etc xx

Hi hun,

I've been told it's fine to do as your 'plug/show' is there to stop infection & mine came out at 33 weeks & i'm still bathing!

As long as you refrain from douching then you'll be fine...that's what I was told anyway!

Good Luck xx

I was offered a bath in hospital after my waters had partially gone and was told it was fine. Just don't put any products in to be safe, although MW put something in mine.... Looked like some kind of oil.

i'm sure its okay as you can use the bath to help in early stages of labour both home and in the delivery ward.
