Think I might've seen a little willy today...

Ever since my 'liver incident' I've had loads of meetings with consultants and loads of blood tests, liver function tests etc etc.

My originaly GTT came back borderline, then my second came back with blood sugars slightly raised which isn't good. I've been eating very well, and my BMI is only JUST on the testing limit, so I am a bit annoyed. It might well be that my 'liver incident' has screwed up my insulin production but nobody really knows.

Anyway, go to go to the diabetic clinic on thursday so it's looking like labouring in the water is out of the question (they have to moniter gestional diabetics constantly and I'd have to stay for at least 24 hours after bubs is born). Fingers crossed for me, I don't really want anymore admission to hospital

So yes, consultant gave me a scan today (I've got one a week for the last three weeks) and whilst he was checking the placentre, I'm pretty sure I got a between-the-legs view. The moniter they use isn't as good as the nice one in X-Ray but since bubs is so big now you'd think I'd spot a little willy, and I think I did! So I'm swaying towards the team , but obviously don;t have conclusive evidence

Anyway, that's all, Ixxy's about a pound and a half, head measures 30 weeks and tummy measured 28+5 which consultant was happy with, and I am too s/he did NOT like the ultrasound today and wouldn't stop kicking.

Hello Samantha!

They thought I had Hep A and I was kept in the maternity unit for 4 days at the start of the month. IV, pethedine, lots of fun things like that, but babies fine (phew!), I did get steriods though cause no one knew if Ixxy'd make an appearance (thank goodness s/he didn't) then I started getting glucose in my urine. Not fun, but nice to spend some time on the Maternity ward and get to see the pregnants coming in, and the babies going out .
I don't have Hep A, and since i'm pregnant they couldn't do a liver biopsy so no one knows what's wrong and they are just keeping a close eye, I start back at work tomorrow.

My gosh hun, sorry to hear you had such an ordeal, must have been so scary for you. I'm glad both of you are ok & that they are keeping a close eye How do you feel?

I had a recent trip down to the labour ward too because I kept having around 7 or 8 BH's in an hour & at one point was having quite painful ones. Turns out I had a UTI & my consultant said that this could have triggered the tightenings Anyhow, I know what you mean about labour ward - I LOVED it. It was so lovely to see all the ladies in there & made me feel so comfortable and all warm & fuzzy to know that it was the most special time in their lives & soon I would be in there It's even more special when it's freezing outside at Christmas time & there will be Christmas decorations & feeling all cosy waiting for my son to make an appearance I cannot wait!

Ergh work! I'm suprised they didn't sign you off or something I finish completely not next Thurs, but the Thurs after & to make things even more exciting and wonderful - my boss is not going to be here & I wont see him ever again after today Relaxing last week & a bit at work - me thinks so

Aye, UTIs are nasty. Initially when I was admitted they thought that's what I had! Look at us both causing trouble !
I cannot WAIT to get back to work, really miss everyone whilst I'm away. My boss sent me a box of chocolates and shower/bath/beauty things when I was in hospital, I was right chuffed!
Yes, I'm almost suprised they didn't kick me off onto maternity leave, but with christmas/halloween stuff it's madly busy at work and they really need an extra pair of hands (espiecally with my collegue starting her mat leave at the end of this month!
If I can sort childcare I probably will be coming back, keeps my tax credits really high and basically doubles my income (which would be useful).
Did you take the house you guys looked round? Are you on the move as of yet?

I wish I loved work as much as you & omg, what a lovely boss! My boss is pretty good too (though not as thoughtful as yours) - he's buying us all pizza the day I leave (only 5 or 6 of us that work here in the UK branch), which was really nice of him. What is it you do hun?

WE ARE! WE GOT IT! We just actually signed the tenency agreement for a year, and got the all clear to move in on the 29th Just waiting for our check in time. SUCH a bargain though! £750 for a two bed around here, but we got it for £625 I'm so happy I can decorate a nursery as well - I've started to buy little decorations now.

That is so fantastic !!!

So pleased that you got that horrible weight off your mind hun , and yes decorating = seriously exciting!

I work in the biggest M&S in Ireland and overall one of the biggest, but specifically I'm in Kidwear so work with all the baby clothes etc . We are a really small team in the department (16 I think including management) so generally quite close, but I think the fact that my manager is a woman may play a part in the giftings!
Usually I love this time of year and dress up in all the halloween clothes, but this year nothing fitted me !

It's going to be seriously wierd to have 9 months off but I'm sure i'll be very busy

And yes - it should be hard to miss the mark of a little boy, but who knows? I don't :-P, think I will be more surprised if it's a girl at this stage though.
