Opinions on egg donation

Hi ladies

This isn't exactly pregnancy related, as such, but I was wondering what your opinions are regarding egg donation? Recently I've been thinking and I cannot believe how lucky I am to have a perfect baby girl inside my tummy, it is so overwhelming. There was a time before I fell pregnant after my miscarriage that I was convinced I'd never carry a baby. Even the thought of that broke my heart, and I cannot imagine how it must feel for some couple out there who aren't lucky like all of us.

So, I thought it would be a lovely idea to donate my eggs to give somebody else the chance to have a family :-) Would you?

I also posted this on second tri as I am eager to get lots of opinions about it xx

I thought about doing it a lot.. just a couple years ago I thought I would never meet the right man so I thought I'd like to get my "seed" out there and at least make someone else happy. But then I got diagnosed with celiac disease and I doubt any parent would want a child with that if they had a choice!

I've done multiple donations. Don't regret it one bit!

Well, I think it is a lovely, unselfish idea....but they wouldn't take my eggs!
I am 42 years old...WAY beyond the cut-off!

I'd love to do that too, I would like to know the people, I actually know someone that has issues with egg production, they have spent $15,000 on fertility and such and I wanted to offer an egg to them but wanted to talk to my husband about it first.
I always wanted to be a surrogate too but I think pregnancy is too hard lol.

It would be more than one egg, likely at the least 7. One donation I had 37!

I could never do surrogacy because it pregnancy isn't easy for sure, PLUS I don't think I could hand the baby away after birth!

There's no exact cut-off age but people normally choose a woman between 21-27. I've seen women donate who were at least 10 years older than that though.
