On my right hand just below the knuckle of my pointing finger I have a vein that looks like it is going to pop right out and - its swollen around that area and it hurts real bad - came on quite suddenly although I haven't been able to wear normal jewellery for weeks now (so swelling isn't sudden just pain) it feel like I punched a wall or something.. anyone else had/got this and should I bother the midwife at such an hour?
I had this towards the end of last week, the veins still pretty swollen now but not as sore, in exactly the same place aswell! Sorry i cant help, didnt want to read and run, and id be grateful for any responses too! x
I have one just below the knuckle on my right middle finger...i also have these funny spider naevi things where an artery comes to the surface. The doc said these are found in about 20%of healthy ppl and are VERY common in pregnancy, due to changing hormone levels&increased circulation. I was told that if i had more than four or was started to see many appear they would inestigate. Don't google as loads of these venous malformations are linked to horrible things, but they are also linked to being prego so i suspect it is nothing more than that.
As for the pain i also get carpel tunnel which cause this kind of pinched nerve pain in my fingers and often wonder if the two are linked.
Thanks girls. I went to my midwife today and she checked me over and said I looked okay. She told me if I wasn't passing enough water then to call her and come back in but cos I had been passing water ok that it was normal swelling.
