39 weeks n head's not engaged yet

i had 39 weeks appointment today, and the baby's head not engaged yet so the doctor said let's wait for one more week, until next sunday.
I'm planning to have natural birth, but from the look of it, i dont think i can. I had a sweep last week and it didnt work and baby's already big, next week will be too big for natural birth
baby's still very active too, and he should have slowed down at this stage.
i'm really upset because i decided since i knew that everything was ok. Hoping that my baby will change his mind coming out before sunday.

IS there anything to do to help baby head to engage? might be a silly question but i;m so frustrated.

My mw told me to rub my belly from right to left (so in a circle) and that helps move bub down. Not sure how effectively it would work getting them engaged. Could also try using a birthing/ exercise ball and going for walks.
Fingers crossed for ya darl

Usually they just say walks, rocking your hips etc. But usually 1st baby engages quite soon, pregnancies after the head wont engage until labour.

Seth's head never engaged before he was born, and his movements didn't slow down either. When I went into hospital after my waters broke he was only 4/5ths and he'd been at that position for like 6 weeks or something.

Good luck hun

I have heard a few things would help like using a fit ball, breast-stroke swimming, walking, star jumps(!!!!), spending time on all fours, and yoga in general

Alasdair didn't start engaging til 40+6 when I got my first sweep (he was 3/5 then) and then at 41+2 he was 2/5. I was induced in the end but really, I don't think you can do much to make them go down unless they want to - I tried all sorts! Some babys do it very quickly and right before labour, even if they are your first so don't worry that nothing is happening...I remember feeling like he'd never come and I was going to have the longest pregnancy ever! It's all very well me saying this but your LO really will be here before you know it x

So it is possible for the water to break without head's engaged? since yesterday i felt more pressure down there ( after 2:30 hrs walk, 2 in shopping center and 30min. around the village ) and i feel more pain upper legs where my legs meet my bump ( you know what i mean ) when i walk. I hope it's a sign of something.
I'm thinking now if nothing happen by due date, shall i wait another week before having c-section.
