It's happened to me twice now in the past couple of weeks - but I don't remember anything like this at all when I was pregnant with my little boy...??
Basically the first time it happened I put it down to me overdoing things... I'd been cleaning like a crazy woman and hadn't slept very well the night before, got out of the bath and felt a bit woozy then started shaking like crazy and couldn't stop! Had a little snack - thinking perhaps it was to do with blood sugar - but that didn't seem to do much and I then passed out on the kitchen floor?! Felt rubbish the rest of the day so was made to 'rest' on the sofa while OH did everything
Today I woke up not feeling too great - with tummy ache and horrendous lower back ache (which hasn't let up the whole day btw)! Anyway, I felt so so tired after breakfast and fell asleep on the sofa - woke up after about half an hour with a temperature and again shaking uncontrollably. Tried to eat but just couldn't stomach anything. OH fetched me a large glass of water - i had about 2 sips and passed out??!! So again been 'resting' today.
Has anyone else had anything like this happen?? I'm under consultant care this time around - do you think I should call him about it, or just mention it to the midwife next week?
Also not sure if this is connected at all but been having loads of braxton hicks the past few weeks - about 6 - 8 every day!
Blood sugar sounds like. You may need to amp up for food intake and keep some orange juice and pop around. I haven't passed out but came close a few times and was shaking and sweating and dizzy. My blood sugar had dropped all of a sudden. So now I keep cNs of pop around and orange juice make sure I eat a big breakfast everyday and I eat way more fruits during the day as snacks between meals. Also make sure your keeping yourself well hydrated hun.
If you start shaking grab sugary drink right away and basically chug it and sit down right away. Then get up and make a snack. Food won't help as fast to bring your blood sugar back up. A pop will give you a quick boost back up then make yourself something to eat as soon as you are feeling a bit better.
I had this over the xmas period. I started shaking really bad in asda and then passed out, i came round and went again so they took me into hospital to be checked, they found i was anemic but i dont think they checked my blood sugar levels. Ive passed out a few times since but with no shaking. The midwife just said its one of those things that pregnancy does to you but id defo call yours just to get yourself checked out hun xx
