Evening Primrose Oil....Discharge Change?

Had a wonderfully uncomfortable, rubbish night last night. Urgh.

Anyway....for any of you that have started inserting EPO vaginally....has it made your discharge change?

I got 1000mg EPO + Starflower oil, and last night my discharge completely changed from very thin and milky....been like that for ages - to incredibly thick and erm....chunky? (eeeeewwww gross!!) Soooooo TMI I know, but been feeling rather odd lately!

I thought the capsule had come out...coz I could feel something there...but when I checked it was just really, really thick discharge?

Wondering if I bounced out a bit of my plug after all my Gym Ball bouncing yesterday!!

Also can EPO cause thrush? Just wondering coz if your making it all greasy n wet up there can it not lead to infections?

What are normal changes to be expected when inserting EPO caps? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Kind of sounds like thrush.
Did you discuss inserting it vaginally with your doctor before you did it? Because after you've started to dilate you aren't supposed to put EPO up there, so you should have them check you before you continue doing it.

Oh gosh....didn't realise I had to get checked by doctor first?!! Also didn't realise I would be dilated at all until labour?

Well...I thought thrush, but got absolutley no irritation? Can it cause thrush then?

I have to say that't the first I've heard about checking with your dr before taking them first. Especially since we don't even get internal exams over here until we're in labour??

I'll be starting them at 36 weeks. Hope you find the answers you're after x

Yes, some women are dilated to 1 even 2 cm for several weeks before labor "starts"
And you can have thrush without the symptoms as well.
I just had some without any symptoms, they checked my cervix before giving me the meds because you can't take the insert medication if you are dilated at all.

In my last pregnancy my mw actually advised me to insert epo from 35 wks even tho i was 2cm dilated I have read lots of women insert a capsule into the open cervix to hurry along dilation/effacing.

Oh god...confusing.

I will have to ask MW on friday then....see what she says, she didn't say 'NO DON'T DO IT' when I mentioned it last time though.

Still interested to hear of any changes to expect when using EPO though?
