inducing when baby head is high

Im only assuming my baby head is high as with all my previous babies they all were none engaged before labour not even my first!

On my last two I was induced because of GD and large for dates babies my cervix is normally soft, 70% effaced and around 2cm so when I'm induced they normally use the pitocin drip and then try and break my waters. which is when there is concern as because baby head is high ( loads of water ) they worry about the cord coming down instead.

Two very experienced midwifes managed it on my DS3 but on my last baby I was got ready for a section. given a spinal block and epidural put in stirrups and they broke my waters baby head came down fine and I was 6cm I wasn't worried about the cord coming down I knew it would be OK, but could understand their concern. it was better to be safe than sorry!

But I'm looking at induction again around the 10 of March same reasons GD is very bad this time as well, so I'm worried the same thing will happen. any way to help baby come down lower so I can lessen the concern about the cord coming down! I'm wondering if they will put me on the drip and let me stand bounce on a ball any thing to help baby down before trying to break my waters.or will they want to rush the induction.

any one else have this problem!

Um...I'm not sure.
When I was induced I was 2 cm, 80% effaced, soft, and baby's head was at 0 station.

They wasted no time breaking my water and my labor lasted just around 10 hours.

When they broke my waters on DS they held his head in place so it came down which it did, labour was very quick then I got to 10 and had him out before I knew it.

I guess on my last baby they were over worried as the day before they broke a girls water and the cord did come down, luckily they had the baby out with in 10 minutes very fast but he was still in the NICU when I was going home 5 days later!

I just dont want the worry again! its playing on my mind a bit!

In terms of getting baby's head down my only recommendation would be lots and lots of squatting and or spending time on a birth ball. But even with that if your uterine walls are lax (which they definitly can be after having a baby before) and lots of fluid then sometimes the only thing that will bring the baby down is contractions. Perhaps they would consider starting the oxytocin for a few hours before breaking your water.

That what I would prefer, having the drip on and let me stand or what ever and let the contractions do the work, I know when my waters are broken and baby head does come down I go very quickly to being fine to OMG the baby coming. give us both a chance to get ready for that so its not so quick.

I have a ball just need to get it blown up now
