i had a car accident last night , that i explained in another thread but i went & got checked at hospital then when i got back i noticed that doc had put this in my notes does this mean baby is a bit in the pelvis , im a bit worried now that im going to go into labour as ive only just gone 33 weeks seems a bit early to me plus im surposed have planned c sections this will be my 4th planned c section . violet xx
Hi Hun, from my knowledge (I have exact same in my notes) this means that the baby is head down and that the head is 3/5th engaged. Babies head can be engaged for 6-8 weeks prior to birth the MW told me... xx
Ceph = Head down
3/5 palpable = Three Fifths of the baby's head can still be felt... Thus meaning it is only Two Fifths Engaged.
--------------------------------------------------------- Useful Info :
If 5 finger widths of your baby's head is felt, it is written as 5/5 palpable or 'unengaged'.
If 4 finger widths of your baby's head is felt, it is written as '4/5' palpable or 1/5 engaged.
If 3 finger widths of your baby's head is felt, it is written as '3/5' palpable or 2/5 engaged.
If 2 finger widths of your baby's head is felt, it is written as '2/5' palpable or 3/5 engaged.
If 1 finger width of your baby's head is felt, it is written as '1/5' palpable or 4/5 engaged.
If your baby's head cannot be felt it is written as 'fully engaged' or 'not palpable'.
