Actually, your BP is high enough to be considered elevated. While the higher number is okay (I'm terrible with the actual terms), 90 and below for the lower number is "elevated."
That was basically what my bp was in second tri. It was enough for my doctors to worry and put me on bp medicine. I'm not saying you *should* be concerned, but that blood pressure is something that a lot of doctors like to keep a very close eye on. Especially because as the baby grows and fluid grows around the baby , more and more stress is put on your body, so your blood pressure is only likely to stay the same or go up and not go down at any point during the rest of your pregnancy.

That being said, blood pressure is always a very variable thing, and it will read differently throughout the day and is quickly affected by factors such as stress and activity.

aragornlover is correct, the 90 (diastolic) is high enough to be classified as hypertension. and while trace protein isn't serious, I had trace protein on the dipstick and 397mg of protein on the 24 hour test... normal is below 300 so you never know....

I was just more concerned as when my Mum did her diptest in the afternoon there was more than a trace and it was in between that and the next box.

My BP was 120/85. The diastolic number is a little high for me, it's usually around 74.

I rang my MW this morning and she said that if I am ever concerned to just ring her right away, no matter what time it is. She was ever so nice and said that she is hoping it's just discharge mixed in with the urine as at 27 weeks (tomorrow) I am a bit early for P.E. she said that when I do my next sample, make sure I give myself a good wipe down before I pee and then only ever use mid stream (which I did) ... she asked my BP and said that seemed ok, but that she would keep an eye on me.

Surely though if my sample was contaminated the lab would have said so?

This has made me feel like my GP doesn't know what she's doing! No wonder I always try and see someone else! I know she diagnosed someone with a pulled muscle in his shoulder last year and it was a heart attack, plus other faux pas!

Semen can cause traces of protein to show up in your urine too

Oh no thanks for telling me in first tri my BP was low, something like 95/60 but it ranges between 120/90-130/90 now. No-one has said anything to me about it but you can't help but worry.

I wonder what's causing it. I'm quite active and have not gained any weight, I've actually lost 8lbs.

I think a lack of water puts a bit of a strain on the kidneys.. and therefore they dont function as efficiently.. and then the protein gets through the urine and is not filtered out IYSWIM

Ok, got my Mum to do another dip test yesterday afternoon. Drank a TONNE during the morning too and gave myself a really good wash down there.

Still reading there's protein there

I asked my MW about this as i've had protein a few times and no UTI...apparently it's just normal for it to happen sometimes, it doesn't mean there's something wrong. There can be various factors that affect it, stress, discharge....various stuff other ladies have mentioned.

Just because you don't "feel" stressed it doesn't mean you're not. Also by the time your mum did the sampe you probably were starting to stress out about it
