Hi ladies, Im hoping someone can tell me how to try and relieve this pain. I have terrible cramps in my upper legs in the front and my hips. They are getting so bad its impossible to sleep. I've tried to use pillows but they dont work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get them to go away?
For leg cramps, if it's just muscle pain, the best remedy I've heard of/tried is eating a banana every day. I started to get them last week, and after seeing lots of ladies recommending it, I tried it, and I haven't gotten any more leg cramps since the second day!
I agree with the bananas idea..it helped immensely with my calf cramps that i get almost every night... nothing like waking up screaming due to a cramp... but i have notice my hips hurt when laying on my side. I have a great pregnancy pillow by boppy which i find does help but i still toss and turn alot ... try a pillow between your knees... im still trying to figure this out as well as the hip pain just started for me this week but only while sleeping... the joys of pregnancy eh?
My hip/loer back/legs were killing me last night. My left side was on fire when i got into bed. Thank god dh gave me a rub for a while because it saved me. My pain starts in my lower back or sacrum/butt and shoots down my leg. Then I woke up this morning and the other leg was on fire because I had been laying on it all night and got a nasty calf cramp midway through .
Here's what I found to help!
-stretch before bed. I stretch my hips, calves and quads.
-pillow between knees (i have the snoogle)
-memory foam bed
-apply heat before bed (i use microwavable rice packs)
This pain is killer. Hip and leg pain, its like their dead weights so uncomfy. I do the pillow between the legs trick, it defo does help but I still end up having to turn a lot during the night to relieve the discomfort on which ever leg is sore x
I have been drinking tonic water and haven't had cramp since. Staying well hydrated helps although it means you will probably be up for a wee in the night. I have heard about bananas helping but haven't tried them yet as the glass of tonic seems to be working. for the pelvic/hip pain i have a cushion between my knees which seems to help.
