Hehe, there's an old wives tale about how it's a boy if your partner grows along with you! We didn't agree, but I've only put on 4 lbs and he's gained about a stone! His mum was going on at him the other day about it, I said, oh leave him alone, he'll lose it walking the pram! xx

Why? I wouldn't have wanted him to, I've got a huge stomach because there is a baby inside, if hubbys put on the same weight he'd be risking heart disease and would find it a lot harder to lose than I will. He's about to be a dad, I want him healthy and energetic not overweight and ill. That's much more supportive than matching my weight gain.

For every pound I gained this pregnancy my OH has lost two. I'm quite proud and happy for him actually, not that I care that he was a tad on the overweight side before but now he's much healthier. I agree with the others in that men gaining isn't very healthy unless they were malnourished and underweight to begin with. With us the weight is baby and placenta and amniotic fluid and increased body fluids and breast tissue and things necessary for a healthy mom and babe... with men they are just adding on extra adipose tissue.....
