39 weeks and can't poop help!

Anyone else around this time frame and in the same dilemma?

I get somewhat nauseous, and have a phobia of nausea and vomitting. and for whatever reason, I think that if I can just poop or have diarrhea I can stop feeling this unsettled iffy feeling in my stomach.

from Weeks 30-35 I was going like people say in pre-labour, loose stools and runs, but now, I'm lucky if I get 1 BM a day and it's normal harder type. I thought nearer the end it's supposed to get looser!

What can I do to get more BM? Can you still go into labour if you're constipated or do loose stools always happen first?

I've recently been having the same issue, though I'm only 30 weeks. I am trying to increase my water intake, though I drink a lot already (darn having to pee so much) and bought some raisin bran cereal (makes for stinky gas) and hoping the bran helps me get moving, you know. If you can take it, buy some prune juice (maybe mix it with other juice like apple). Good luck, hun.

I've had a few days if this (but only in the last few weeks too). I think the baby can compress your bowel when it gets bigger! (nice!). My doc said, more water, more fibre and if you need it you can take Fybogel. (just on the shelf in boots, tesco whatever). xx

Yes I am in the same boat! I get really bad pains and then cant go it is very frustrating! I have been having a big fruit salad every morning and a kellogs fibre bar which is 20% of daily allowance for fibre and still nothing!xx

sometimes you are eating less at that stage which can be a reason.

Activia yoghurts are brilliant and very gentle, if you try stuff like weetabix drink LOTS or the fibre just bungs you up even more.

Drink hot water with a slice or lemon or something during the day, the warmth helps, I have the kettle on the go and sip constantly during the day ( and wee lots too!)

warm baths can help too :0)

Thanks! I'll try all except maybe the weetabix cuz my stomach is super picky and if I stray off my routine for the first hour or so in the morning with my cereal I get nauseous for sure. I'm eating raisin bran though so it's fiber as well. But like hannbanana said maybe it's cuz I'm eating less; I eat like every 2 hours but in much smaller portions.

And yeh probably the baby's pushing my bm back cuz every time I try to poop my pelvic pain and cramps come more. Very frustrating!

I just don't want to be constipated on top of being in labour! Been having regular contractions for hours but it's also been this way for over a week. Only now it's more crampy.

i have been like this. I am tending to go once a day and they are fairly loose but I just feel constipated all the time, at night especially it can cause me alot of pain. I dont think everyone has a clear out but it would be nice to have one as a sign hey?!?!

I am having the same problem. I've been upping my fiber and can't seem to get much out still.
