Contraceptive implant

I know i should probably ask my doctor/MW but im really tired and thought i'd ask here.

Has anyone here had the contraceptive implant in the past? does anyone plan on getting it inserted after this pregnancy etc? Was it good?

I don't plan on the implant, i'm planning on the injection... My midwife says you can have the injection before you leave hospital after giving birth as well... So will be checking all of that over with her on tuesday.

I had the implant before falling pregnant for baby 2.

I found it worked a treat for me, no periods, and 3 years of protection.

I prefered it to the depo as i had breakthrough bleeding with that.

Only thing i was dubious of, it took 18 months to fall pregnant after it was taken out. I know that may be one of those things but my cycle wasn't the same either, whereas before i was 28 days, after this i was 26 - 35 days.

I had mine out a couple months ago I liked it when it was in but regret having it now, my bdy was wrecked who knows what my AF is doing we are currently TTC but I dont think theres much chance of it happenin soon!

As the one above says no periods or anything, but there are some bad side effects its different for everyone though, its a risk but a risk worth taking, if you dont get on with it you can always have it removed

the only thing i will say about the injection is if you plan on having more kids that it can take a while for it to get out your system i was on injection for about 6 yrs it took me 26 months to get pregnant after coming off it , it took me about 10 months just to get my peroid back i also had no sex drive what so ever while i was on it . violet xx

I'm debating whether too have this. I've only ever been on the pill, but it was no good for me as I forgot too take it some days. I was just lucky too not get caught pregnant. So I think this is the best option for me.

I don't like the thought of a needle in my ass every 12 weeks. So I think there is only the implant left. My mum had it in, and said it's good. The only thing putting me off is you can feel the rod if you run your hand over it. Euw! It is the rod implant your on about aint it?

Yeah, when my mum had it in, I felt it under her skin. You know like you're belly bar? You can feel that under your skin if you feel.

Yeah, it seems too be all good, and I've not heard any negatives about it. So for me too I think.
