bloody mucousy discharge after sweep, bloody show?
had my sweep 4 hours ago, been having cramps and stomach aches since, went to the toilet and noticed brown mucous in my pants (tmi sorry!) and was also there when i wiped. Im trying to stay realistic as i know this can all be normal after the sweep anyway, and midwife said my cervix wasnt open and only admitted one finger tip... but could this be a bloody show!? and does this mean sweep may have done what it should?
It's quite possible, sometimes sweeps work really fast and other times they take a day or two, with my first two I went into labour two days after the sweep, with this one I had a sweep yesterday evening, prosterior cervix, quite thick, could stretch to a 3, had a very tinsy amount of blood streaked mucous a couple of times that evening, baby was born early in the morning! It got pains going straight away and worked really fast while my others took a while, with my first I had a full on show and with second and third I never saw a big mucous plug at all, although some of the gunk on babies head this morning looked suspiciously like plug lol, not nice poor baby. Goodluck! xxxxx
I posted asking about sweeps several weeks ago and one woman said that she had 2 and went into labors within hours both times. You could be overthinking, but you never know right now. That's the fun of it.
