A happy ending to a traumatic birth, the bizarre birth of Connor Willam Martinez!

Sorry it took me so long to hop on here and update you ladies. I had what turned out a very scary birth. Honestly i was so out of it I don't remember much but I'll tell what was told to me and what I remember.

So I went in on the 5th at 9 pm and got the vaginal suppository as I had developed preeclampsia. Contractions started coming around 3 am on the 6th but I didn't really notice them. My nurse had been taking tests alll night and my fever spiked, my protein shot through the roof and the mag sulf had no effect what so ever. My Platlette count was waaaayyyy low, like 45 or something so I was refused an epidural but because my count was so low they also didn't want to try a c-section because I might not have stopped bleeding.

basically I was forced to have a natural birth (or some-what natural. I did insist on phentanol). And girls, I have nothin but respect for women who choose to do this. I'm amazed that I made it through and I actually did that, but at least I know I CAN do that.

Anywho...once I was at 6 centimeters my contractions started to suck. They went from no problem to unbearable. I gave up being polite at that point and just started screaming obscenities and crying. I was shot up with so much phentanol thhat things start bleeding together in my mind at this point, but I dilated very quickly and within half an hour I NEEDED to push. Six pushes later Connor William Martinez was born at 12:02 pm weighing 6 lbs 3oz and measuring 18 inches. He was born with his hand next to his head which gave me a huge fourth degree pelvic floor tear and rectal tearing...oddly enough I tore in the exact location an episiotmy would have been.

Connor had no problems what so ever but i would not stop bleeding. So my DH and my mom looked on as they whisked me away to repair me under general anesthsia...I remember looking at my DH who was crying and saying, in my drug induced state, "Honey, I'm coming back, i promise." So they sewed me up and when they brough be around from being under I started offering people fruit baskets! seriously, I thought that was an appropriate thank you for delivering my child.

The next day i finally found out what happened to me. i had severe HELP syndrome, my liver was in danger of bursting, I had very little platelettes, a fever over 100 and full on toxcemia. I needed two blood transfusions, a transfusion of platelettes and plasma, and I was hooked up to every bag of medicine you could think of.

Everything has turned out okay tho, I am almost fully okay, Connor is thriving. I look at him every day and can not believe I love something so much as this little guy. He's so expressive and SO sweet tempered, we rarely get fussy and love to suddle with mommy. Sorry this is a bit scattered but I'm in zombie brain mode.

Thank you ladies for all the support for the last few months I greatly appriciate all your answers and support!
