Does what you and oh weigh determine what lo will weigh?

I was born at 38 weeks and was 6 lbs 5oz.
OH was born a 1 week LATE and was 6lbs 2 oz.

does this have any affect on how much our baby will weigh?
My doctor never gave us a good estimate on how much he will weigh so we really have no idea how much he is going to be.

But just wondering if this means we will most likly have a 6 something lb baby or it could be possible to have a 8 something lb baby?!

I was told that it is most influenced by the maternal side. I was 6 lbs 13 oz and my boy was 6 lbs 9 oz.

I weighed around 8 lbs and my son's father weighed 7 lbs at 7 weeks premature. (wow, right!) My son came out at 39 weeks weighing 9 lbs 10 oz. I would assume he got that weight from his father's side who is a tall skinny guy. lol.

My current husband weighed 7 lbs 14 oz at birth and right now our baby girl is measuring ahead.

Who knows where it comes from?

Yep, its mostly determined by what you AND your OH weighed at birth, and how tall you both are now. I was 7 lbs. 12 oz(not sure how early), my husband 7lb. range(lol his Mom cant remember). We are now 5'5 and 6'0. My 1st was a month early and 5 lbs 3oz- 2nd was 7lbs. 9 oz- 5 days early. This baby I'm sure will be 7 lb. range too if she is born close to due date!

Well. I was just over 7lb I think, and my children's father was 10lb-something.

Our children were 5lb 12.5oz born at 37+6, and 6lb 2oz born at 40 weeks. This one is estimated to be around 8lb 13oz when he's born.

So I'd say no is the answer to your question

Not sure on this one but me & DH were both 6lbs something at birth however my DS1 was 8lb 6 & this one looks like going along the same route !

Well I was 7lbs 4 oz and my first baby was 8lbs 13oz! My DH was only 6lbs 6oz

Interesting thread! This is my first and I was worried as my partner was under 5lb when born at full term and I was a bit worried our little one would be small. That said I was 6lb something and a week late so I'm hoping to get a nice healthy weight. X x

I was about 6lbs 10oz at 4 days early and I know my ex was a bit smaller than that. My 1st was 7lbs 5oz (39w 3d), my 2nd was 6lbs 15oz (39w 5d) and my 3rd was 7lbs 14oz (38w 3d).
Not sure about the birth weight of my son's daddy but he is 6" and our son was born at 39w 6d at 8lbs 8oz...

I thought I was in for a humongous overdue baby as I was 9 lb 8 and born 3 weeks overdue (all my siblings were over 10 lb! and born a month overdue) and my husband was 8lb and born on time. Midwife told me to expect at least an 8 lb 7 baby due to my height (I am 5'10) and my husband being 6'4.

Out popped (well....ventouse pulled) a 6 lb 11 baby 5 days early!
