When I would go for A1C tests, they said water might dilute the amount of glucose in my blood. Therefore giving a false reading. I know when I drink lots of water normally, it lowers my sugar readings. (I'm type II) Just go easy with it, I'd say.
I was even allowed to eat before the test (though I didn't). And I was allowed to drink water while waiting to get my blood taken... I just wasn't allowed to have anything else to drink or eat while I waited. No gum or anything, that was torture as gum is the only thing that helps my morning sickness that I still have!
