High blood pressure going to hospital

Hi, had another check up today with the midwife and my blood pressure is up high. Got to go to hospital to have bloods done etc.

Has anyone ever had this? What tests will they do and what may be the outcome? X

I had high bp with my first. I was in pregnancy assessment most days which was annoying. They would take the bloods - but i'm unsure exactly what they tested for, and i was put on a monitor to trace babys heart rate to make sure he was ok in there and had my blood pressure checked a couple times each visit.

Sorry i couldn't be any further help. Hope you get on ok xx

This happened to me with my first pregnancy. My dr believed I had pregnancy-induced hypertension, and constantly checked my urine for protein spilling, my bloods for platelettes (I think?) and lots of non stress tests for baby on the monitor. She found this issue out at 34 weeks and every weekly appt ended up with me going to L&D for NSTs. At 38 weeks, they induced me. Everything was great! Good luck! 8)

I've been going through this for last three weeks, midwife would take blood pressure, send me to day assessment unit, have bloods & urine tested, put on CTG monitor for about 3/4 of an hour, then let go when bloods come back ok. This happened approx 4 times in two weeks before they admitted me, am now on tablets for blood pressure.

The reason they want blood & urine each time is to check you don't develop pre-eclampsia.

I was on daily midwife checks, they compare your blood pressure to that at your booking appointment. At my booking appt mine was 100/60, at one point last week it went up to 160/105!

Mines been over that & no one seems to give a hoot, how odd!

I went in for a CTG a couple of weeks ago as I had not felt baby move much in 24 hours, my BP was 145/95 while I had that.. MW said everything was fine tho & sent me home!

I was 140/105 on Weds & told my MW about this when I saw her for my 38 week appt on thurs, but she said as long as my urine is clear then I'm fine.

My booking was similar to yours xx
