Contracting every 7 minutes and I had no clue!

I thought this would be helpful information for 1st time moms. I had a doctor's appointment today and since I am past my due date they hooked me up to a monitor to monitor the babies heart rate and to see if I was contracting. Apparently I was! I was told to mark every time the baby moved, but what I quickly learned was that what I thought was the baby rolling into an odd position and making my stomach an odd shape and all hard was actually a contraction! This might help some of you know a little better what you are looking for!

I was also 3-4cm and 80% effaced! Hopefully something happens soon, but if not I am booked for an induction of the 4th of July!

Sorry, what does effaced mean? I see that term on here a lot.

It refers to how thinned out your cervix is

I found this out oo when i was monitored and contracting every 7 mins too. What i thought was baby tightening under my ribs was actually a contraction. Have had much stronger ones since though so i think it could still be classed as BH.

wow thats great news, hopefully not long now!
I didn't feel my contractions til I was 3-4cm only reason I knew they were actually contractions was cos my waters broke first

That does help a lot. I had a friend who told me that she had no clue she was having contractions when she went into labor with her son.

This has worried me a bit- I've felt really odd today , no contractions but a feeling a but like I'm going to come on my period- now for the last 2 hours my lo has been moving more than she ever has done and my tummy is making really odd shapes- I'm
Now paranoid its not her kicking at all- any advice?

how exciting! hope baby comes soon then. im sure it will come before u need inducing if thats not booked til july 4th and ur progressing unnoticed! lucky u x
