waters broke planning a home birth confused!


hi my waters have broken and am just having my show now called hospital to let them know told them i was planning a home birth too and have been asked to go in is this normal ? Not sure if i'm having contractions or not had some pain but nothing regular ? Anyone any advice should i call back and ask again i really don't want to get there and be told i've got to stay in ? I'm so confused!!!!!

I wouldnt go tbh as once your in they could well find reasons to keep you in.

If still no contractions within 24 hours you willl need to go in incase of infection

how many weeks pregnant are u?

i agree i wouldnt go in, call them back and say im booked for a hb and they will have to send someone out to u.

I'm 40+4 and had a sweep today with the midwife and then been for a very long walk this evening and it all seems to have worked just confused by the hospital she said they were very busy and could i wait and hour before heading in

Definitely dont go in, it seems once your in they say whatever they can to keep you.

Call back and say your booked in for a homebirth and will call when you feel you need a MW

they cant refuse to send a mw out to u so i really wouldnt be bullied into going in just yet.
id also post this in natural and homebirth section as they will no alot more in there x

good luck hope ur contractions start soon

just called back and spoke to someone else and she has said not to go in and get a few hours sleep and call back and let them know how i'm doing if no contractions then i can go in and get checked and have some swabs done or if i get contractions thew will send mw out i have posted in home and natural too just not many viewing at min thanks ladies x

atleast u got some good advise from the last person u spoke to.

im sure come tomorrow u will get more replys x

but hope ur not around to see them and ur contractions get going and u have ur hb
if uve got lavander oil u cud try sniffing that to help bring on contractions

i think the contractions have started they seem to be lasting about 40 secs at the minute but still quite far apart think its going to be a long night sent Dh off to bed to get some sleep just wish i could lol
