i still think that mines safe in 3 weeks time, but if i had to give birth now i wouldnt be too concerned....
i know that alot of people would dissaggree with that because LO isn't fully cooked until 37 weeks,
im interested to know what other people think and whether my LO would be safe at 34 weeks?
Both of my children were born early, 1st at 36 weeks and 2nd at 35 weeks, and I can tell you from experience, best to go as long as you can. Don't get me wrong, my children were ok and healthy, but both needed NICU time and oxygen and special things to get through the first few days especially. But I had no choice in when they came, water broke early with both... I was told this time to try and make it to 37 weeks. We shall see... Good luck!
I'm almost 37 weeks and would say if she came now it'd be ok. Personally I wouldn't want her any sooner because until the lungs are mature there's a risk she'd be kept in hospital for a week or more and I'd rather she be kept in me for a week or more than in hospital! x
Even though technically 37 weeks is full term I don't like that time at all. I wouldn't feel safe personally until at least 38 weeks minimum, and even though it would be great to meet her before 40 weeks I don't really want to see her till then or later.
yep, 34 is very borderline... the lungs need to develop more.
i was still a little worried at 37 weeks too, and at 40 weeks, i am just about getting my head around him coming anytime soon, and it being perfectly ok!
