Baby fully engaged. Not dilated at all. 30% effaced.

For the past week and a half my pubic bone has felt crazy bruised, and sitting/standing hurts. I also walk like I just rode a camel straight across the Sahara. Today I'd been having bad stabbing pains all day, tons of pressure in my bum, called my doctor and they wanted to do an internal.

So... who wants to explain this to me? LOL. How am I doing? She said the babies head was as low as it's gonna get without leaving and she felt it right away.

NOW I am getting anxious.

She also said she cant even give me an ETA. "Could be tomorrow, could be three weeks from now, I have no way of knowing. Now is the frustrating part" were here exact words.

Yes, I'd like to know what this means as well - especially the effaced part. I have no idea what that means.

It sounds fine to me hun. I've felt very similar for a couple of weeks. I'm now (yawn) 8 days over and sick of boring people on here with that fact lol. Don't be anxious, there's all different combinations on here of dilation and effacement. Some people are fully engaged without any softening of the cervix...some people are soft and "short" but still go overdue (like me) and some people are 2 weeks over and still with long hard cervix's which means they aren't showing any signs of being ready! If there's one thing this forum has taught me its that there are no rules at all to how it will turn out. But if your doctors happy, thats the main thing. Just keep your eye on the symptoms. Good luck xxx

I like my doctor for that reason--they don't even check for dilation until your DD but I think my incessant whining about being in pain made them curious lol.

Effaced means how thin your cervix is - when its 100% effaced its thin enough for delivery to begin.....50% would mean half way ready....30% almost one third ready. But it doesn't really help because you could get 100%effaced from nothing within a day xxx

So my crotch feeling bruise constantly the past few days could mean that she's engaged? I won't know anything until they check me on Thursday...I'm so curious to know if there is any dilation or anything.
