Hot tubs?

I'm getting mixed information from alot of different sources....
can you or can't you hit a hot tub after your first tri? I haven't, but, dammit, it keeps coming up, and I'll be honest, I'd love a soak. Any information?

It seems more important in your first tri, from what I've read.
No0 matter what, my legs are gonna get a good soak, but man, I'd be lying if I said that I didn't want to hunker down in there and relax all those tight back muscles.

I asked midwife if i could use ours and she said you can, but cannot have the jets on as this will increase your blood pressure. so then its just like being in the bath!!!

I dont know if this is just a late in pregnancy thing, but I was told by my MW not to have a bath any hotter than 37 degrees...

... so I got to put baby's thermometer to good use already and discovered 37 degrees isn't very warm at all Baths aren't even worth it, its like sitting in lukewarm water!

But THEN, is it okay to have a hot shower, because I absolutely pump the hot water in the shower, my hubby doesn't know how I can stand it, we basically cant shower together because if I'm in control of the taps he gets burned!?!?!

Ditto above, a bath isn't supposed to be hotter than 37 degrees. At hospitals if your labouring in water they won't let it go above that. It's not warm either!

You want to be careful and not raise your body temperature too much, your LO can't control his/her body temp, you control it
