I was told to eat whatever I wanted up until the test, but to avoid a lot of sugar, and then after drinking the stuff, I couldn't eat anything until the hour was up and they'd taken the blood. I know they were also testing my blood for hemoglobin (iron) to see if I was anemic, which sounded like it is the standard at my clinic.
thanks 5-a-side. having a horrible morning. i havent felt my little girl move much since yesterday and am officially freaked out. just left a message for my md. ive tried eveything that usually gets her moving - music, hot/cold drinks, eating, lying down. she's just not being her normal self
pregnancy is not fun anymore i just want my healthy little girl in my arms!
i had mine done yesterday at 1pm and had not eaten anything at all that morning. my only concern is that i had a huge piece of chocolate cake the night before (i didn't know i was going for the test) and they never gave me any directions anyways.
now i am worried that it's going to come back high because of what i ate the day before. i could barely stand the 1 hour one i don't think i can bare doing the 3 hour.
as long as you haven't eaten or drank anything in 3 hours before the test you're good.
