Do subsequent labours normally start the same as previous labours?

just wondering really.....I'm now 40+2 and definately ready for baby to arrive. Just wondering...those of you who have had more than one baby - if your labours started the same for both/all pregnancies?

Im going to say no for me. Im 40+5 today, and at 40+5 with my first pregnancy I was in labour and had him at 40+6. With that pregnancy I was having contractions on and off for 2 weeks, a sweep at 40+3 which really set me off and he was born 3 days later.

So Im guessing this one isnt going to start the same based on me having no contractions or anything. Its not like I can start contracting early now as baby should be here in 2 weeks time.

Im having a sweep Wednesday though so will be interesting to see if it sets me off, although I cant remotely feel or reach my cervix still so Im not hopeful!

xx

Soppose I would have to answer no to this one ..

Baby no1 started having contractions on thursday was kept in hospital but was stuck at 3cms until finally on Sunday they broke my waters & put up a drip to increase contractions .. Baby was born 18.41 after a very long & hard labour ..

Baby no2 started having contractions and was terrified I would get stuck at 3cms again but everything went smoothe thank goodness .. Birthing partner arrived at hospital at 8.45am with me and delivered at 12.15pm no problems ..

Baby no3 I woke at 5.30am with no pain at all but fresh blood & show (hadn't noticed a show with previous 2) and rang MW as I was worried about the bright red blood I was loosing, she advised me to come to hospital to be checked .. As I was having no pains r anything I didn't bring hospital bags or anything but going over speed ramp into hospital car park I got my 1st pain .. This was about 6.30am .. MW met me at admissions got checked & I was 3cms .. OH flew home to grab bags etc and when he got back about half hour later I was ready to go to delivery suite .. Contractions continued and around 10.00am I started using gas&air .. I was 6 cms .. Delivered at 12.25pm xx

I would say no aswell all 3 of mine have started very differently.

DS1 - 40+8 started with mild contractions and a day of slow labour.
DS2 - 40+3 water broke just after I had gone to bed, contractions started 1 hr later.
DS3 - No sign of ever coming and induced at 40+10, took another 3 days and a drip to get labour going.

Have no idea what to expect this time, only hope she's not too late and I don't have to be induced this time.
