What is Safe??

Hi Ladies

I swear you are going to get so sick of my posts!! But i just have to ask when i think of things!!!

I was recently given a mum to be pack as a present from a friend, which has all these little lotions and creams etc in and some clary sage oil.

My question is, when is it safe to use the clary sage oil? Some people say you can rub it on your bump all the time, but others say not until you are in labour? Now i'm only 28 weeks tomorrow and i dont want to be using anything that might be a risk to baby, so just some advice please?

Also i have the same question about Lavender?

Thank you

I think you have to wait a while for the clary sage oil - i'm not 100% though. The other products should be fine. did the pack not come with any instructions?

xx

No, it's literally just three little bottles in a bag with a description of what each bottle is.... I had heard things about the clary sage oil, so i thought it best to check before i used anything!!

Don't use it until you're term just incase. It can induce contractions and very strong BHs.

Thank you That's brilliant, i didn't want to use just in case as i had read some things along these lines, much as i am excited about meeting my little princess she needs to cook for a while longer yet!! x

what Blah11 said, it causes contractions so its used to induce labour, its also good for pain releif and speeding up labour.

Lavender is safe to use, ive been using it awhile, helps relaxing. just a few drops in your bath.

I would rub any essential oils into your bump until term. and essential oils always need dilated in a carrier too, so never use neat on your skin.

Good luck hun, what were the other two?

One is a stretch mark cream and the other is a lavender bath cream... I think i might just hold off using any of it until i am term - i dont want to risk anything
