cheap ideas to decorate the nursery?! share your ideas

Hello mummys hope your all well!

My nursery doesnt look like a nursery at all lol

The cots gonna be in our room to start with and so will the changing table so it wont be very nursery like but i start mat leave in 2 weeks and i need something to do i really wanna turn the room into a propper nursery and because were renting the property we cant paint the whole walls as wel have to paint it back to its original colour but wudnt mind painting some of the wall is normal paint ok for babys room?

Anyway so i need some ideas on cheap ways to realy turn the room into a nursery and i thought some other ladies might wanna know too feel free to post links and info. Im in uk so dont have like walmart etc

My one idea: go to a craft shop and get wooden letters then paint them with acrylic paint as i heard it s non toxic then u can make ur babys namee and put it in the room

I dont know names of any craft shops though lol

Thanks mums xx

Get your self to hobby craft they have the letters and proably the paint, not sure where your nearest one is, I go to the one in Preston. But I'm sure you can find it if you google it. They will also have lots of other bits to inspire you

Ebay is good for decorative stuff. I'm getting this wall sticker

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/you-wish-u...item84b8b7779f

I'm sure you could get the wooden letters from ebay as well. I used normal silk emulsion in my baby's room for the walls and I'm going to paint outlines of Disney characters on one wall in white paint.

Have you asked your landlord if you can paint? it was originally in my contract that I couldn't but I got mine to change it haha! And my last place I was explicitly not to but when it came down to it, at an early viewing before I'd put it back, the fact that there was colour actually sold it to the new tenant!

Anyway, I'm just doing one feature wall in my nursery because it's such a nightmare to paint (crazy high ceilings and the only bloomin room without a rail so you have to paint all the way up arggg). Or how about big wall stickers? Most of the ones on ebay aren't that big but you get huge ones and you can take them back off when you move.

Edit - paint! As long as it's not something bubs is going to get in their mouth then normal is fine!

Arg! Tell them to prove it wasn't that colour :P

I think I probably wouldn't bother painting if the paintwork wasn't so awful

The big wall stickers are cool, I had a huge Mario scene on one wall for my old flatmate, if he didn't take them with him bubs would be having a mario bedroom!

Wall stickers !! Some of them can be removed and reused!! We used them in our master bedroom for where her bassinet is going and even though we painted her nursery we used them in their too! They are easy and cute and have so many varieties that they can easily be changed as your lil one grows up!

We have a bumper and we aren't going to use it b/c of the risk of SIDS w/ it, and they are also outlawing it where we are in January. I am going to put it in a frame. So it will be like a square of art. Might make three b/c there is enough there to do something with it. May also hang silk from curtains-like a sash to add color. Good luck.
