Ways to tell what position your baby is in just by touching

Hey

I wanted to ask is there anyway you can feel your babys position by feeling your stomach? I was told my babys breech and wanted to feel if shes still in that position! I was thinking maybe i will feel her kick or move in different places if she changed position!
What position are your babies in, and where about do you feel movement?

xxxx

Bums are kind of wider at the top and softer than a head wud be. Mines transverse and it feels so much more uncomfortable than a head down baby it hurts when she moves and u can feel the hard back across tummy but limbs seem like their all over the place. Dont think u can tell diff between breech & head down ! X

I have been trying to do this too. I feel a hard bump on the top of my tummy but I have no clue if its the head or the butt. This is what I found when I was searching on this topic. http://pregnancy.thefuntimesguide.co...on_in_womb.php. The hiccups particularly worked for me as he seems to have a lot of them lately. But these days, I feel hiccups both at the top and bottom. Maybe his whole body is moving with the hiccups. Whatever... I have an appt next monday and waiting for the Dr to say how he is right now. Hoping he turns head down soon if he hasnt already...

My baby is breech, and you can feel his big ol' noggin right below my left rib. I can feel kicks, pokes, and prods in all different places it seems, so I don't think that's the best way to determine what position baby is in.

Apparently my baby is frank breech, with his feet up by his face.

I feel hiccups very low down, and apparently that's supposed to mean he's head down, but according to my weekly ultrasounds, he's not.

That link is brilliant Thank You! I can feel a hard lump moving around near my right rib! ive touched it a few times, im guessing its her head or foot as she is breech with legs up in the air!

My baby was a wriggle worm at that stage, he was head down, then breech, then head down again. Couldn't make up his mind.

No problem!!! At 29 weeks, the LO has so much room to move, that its hard to say the position. But we never stop trying, do we? AT my previous visit at 32 weeks, I was complaining of terrible pain on and off near my left hip and on examination I found out his head was there. It was there that I felt the hiccups and they picked the heartbeat. I was told he cud be trying to get to head down position and was in the transition. I dint know it took 3 days for him to turn. Anyway since then, that pain has gone and I know for sure that he is either head down or head up. Fingers crossed that he is head down and stays put there...

yes, i read that hiccups are actually a real indication of where the head is. my lo was breech and i'd have hiccups both very low and at the top of my bump.

can't rely too much on kicks either as it will depend on whether legs are extended or flexed
