Steroid injections.

Hi there when i was 26 weeks I had to have steriod injections as they were concerned that little man was gonna come early. I was just wondering will those steriod injections make baba gain weight as well as lung development?

All my babies have been reasonably small at 6lb 1oz, 6lb 11oz, 5lb 11oz and 5lb 12oz and just worried about giving birth to a bigger baby.

Steroid injections dont make a difference to the baby's weight, just matures their lungs x

Yes i was told last week after having the steroid injections that the babies weight will not be affected, just helps babies lungs get stronger. All the best. xx

Hey ladies hope u dnt mind me asking but how did the doc determine ur lo will cum early?

Steroids only help mature the lungs. I had 2 shots this weekend. Wont affect anything else. Other than the fact that they are the most painful injections I have every had.

Was told told that baby's weight will not be affected on the two injection course of the steroids - hope that helps.
I had my daughter at 33wks due to mistreated uti's - apparently once that happens the cervix remainder weaker for future pregnancies
