LMP or ultrasound? A 10 day difference..

Hi ladies,
yesterday at the doctors office I asked and my due date according to the first ultrasound at 6 weeks is January 20th. According to my LMP is Jan 11th. My periods have been super regular, 28 day cycles before I got pregnant. Im a bit confused and kinda not want to believe that the ultrasound due date is right. I have a feeling that the baby will be born next week. I just don't think a computer measurement can estimate when a baby will be born, I believe that your body can give a better prediction like the LMP. When I was pregnant with my DD her due date according to the ultrasound was August 7th and LMP was July 21st. She was born exactly on July 21st! Which one was more accurate with you?

I would go by what your instincts are if you how long your cycle was and you know ovulation then you are probably right on your dd. when i went in for my first ultrasound it was 7 days off they tried to calculate from my LMP but I didn't O until the 21st day so cant go by that so they kept trying to say that i was further along then my scan keep trying to say I was 1 week behind! I am sticking with a DD of march 15-18!

Try getting them to listen though. I got put back a week at my 12 week scan, yet I knew the day we conceived, did an ovulation test and dtd just once that whole week, so I've no doubts.

Now I'm getting induced at 38 weeks, which has actually turned out to be 38 weeks and 4 days, due to being high risk, but to me, that's 3 days short of full term anyway. I'm hitting my head off a brick wall. They just tell me, 12 scan is more accurate that lmp, which although I agree with this, in this case, I know different. Grrrrr. X

I'd go by the ultrasound but considering babies can really come whenever - I don't think a 10 day difference is going to be huge.

My LMP dated baby as 23rd Feb- the Ultrasound as 15th. Lets see, now I'm also super regular, though. I'd be very interested in how this pans out!

LMP dating is based on the average textbook 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14. This isn't the case for so many of us who have shorter or longer cycles.

A 12 weeks ultrasound is usually accurate to within 5 days at determining when the baby was conceived. However, although it can estimate the due date, it can't predict when the baby will be born. They come when they are good and ready. Even if the ultrasound dating is spot on (mine matched perfectly with my ovulation date) there is no saying the baby will not come early or late.
