Was wondering if anyone had requested that their c section is moved forward by a week and the hospital agreed?
I have really bad morning sickness and haven't been able to keep ANYTHING down since I was about 5 weeks. I feel weak constantly, don't have any energy and am bursting into tears with my 2 year old because I just can't cope along with all the other normal pergnancy symptoms and pains.
If I explain this to my consultant are they likely to take pity on me a deliver a week early if I know the risks?
I requested my last c-section on a certain date so I could have more time to recover before I had to go back to school. At first Dr. wouldn't agree cuz he said he couldn't do it more than 8 days before due date, but I finally convinced him, seeing as I was just asking for 2 extra days. When he went to schedule it though he actually ended up moving it back another couple days so we could do it first thing in the morning. So I ended up having mine at 38 weeks.
I did actually think scheduled ones where done at 38 weeks, least any one I know got them then. When I was offered ones it was for 38 plus a day or two. At 40+5 it's looking like I should have taken that option.
mine is scheduled for 39+4, but we're going to ask if we can move it earlier a week, as I am having problems with swelling ankles and it is getting increasingly difficult to get around, bathe, etc., and have had a scare with HP (BP is okay now), and now, am worried that he will get crushed (I am small and he is big) -- that said, it is only in the last week that the bad pregnancy problems have developed, except for carpal tunnel in my hands, which has been around since month 5....
I just had my scheduled c section on Jan 7th at 38 weeks. I think they will schedule it earlier than 39 weeks if medically necessary. I had total previa so they scheduled it at 38 weeks to avoid me ever going into labor
I'm having mine at around 39 weeks. Ive actually read if you do it any earlier your baby is at "risk" of breathing issues.
This is correct, though like the previous poster, for those who have c-section that is a must have rather than something they are electing to have (i.e. for previa or previous classical c-section) they generally do it at 38 weeks
I have complete placenta Prevea and at my consultant's appointment 2 weeks ago they were still saying I should have my c-section at 39weeks but I'm hoping that they will change their minds on that at my next appointment in 3 weeks time and do it at 38weeks. I've bad pelvic pain and there are days where I can't walk so every day I'm not like this is good for me lol.
The only thing is I will disappoint a few people at work as they all reckon this baby is going to beat the weight record for our company!! The current record holder was 10lb2oz and they all think this baby is going to smash that lmao!!
