What happens when you reach 100% effacement?

Do you start dilating faster? Do things keep their same pace?

Last weeks appt I was:
1 cm
50% effaced
plus 1 station

Todays appt:
2 - 2.5 cm
80% effaced
zero station

I'd say that you'd go faster because then your baby's head would be right on the cervix. What did your Dr say about being 80% now because you'd think that you will go into labor pretty soon.

Well he thinks Im going to have this baby by Monday, but I reminded him that with my 1st daughter I hit 2cm at 35 weeks and stayed there for 5 weeks and after breaking my water still wouldnt move past 2 and had to be induced. He just responded "Well great I'll never get this kid out of you! Let's just hope you go by Monday" lol... I'm not having many contractions so I think I still have a while... who knows?!
