How to tell the difference. Between pee and your waters!

A few tip to tell the difference between pee and your waters,

If you feel wet, change your undies and put in a pad,
Lay down for half hour, if your waters are leaking or broken you will most likely stay dry untill you stand up.

If once you stand the pad is wet, have an investigation, if the fluid is coloured, or smells its probs wee, if the fluid is clear or very pale and has an odour simillar to bleach or it feels silky its probs your waters.

If your stil, unsure, call the MW and tell them they will probs want to test it!

Hope this helps!

I went to an antenatal class on labour last week and the head midwife woman said to smell the pad and if it smells like sperm (UNBELIEVABLE TMI ) then it's waters! I don't know why that's the nearest thing she could think of that smelt similar but she said that's exactly what they smell of.

What I'm getting confused with is do we as preggos have more discharge the more pregnant we get too? Because I'm definitely a lot wetter than I used to be but I'm certainly not weeing randomly and I don't think my waters have broken lol.

Also...while we're talking about it and have established that it can be clear, doesnt smell like wee and can just be a trickle...imagine. you still weren't sure lol. Do you think your waters could break trickle-style over the course of the day without any other symptoms? Like no mucus plug and no contractions? Do you think its probably nothing. lol. And do all contractions hurt or are they just tightenings at first? Sorryfor taking over the thread...im 37 weeks and just realised i dont know what I'm feeling for x

When my waters broke with my son, I was asleep. I woke up to go pee in the morning, and my shorts were a bit damp (I assume they had broken a while earlier and dried a bit) Then I asked my husband to smell it cause I couldn't bend that way Then I did manage to smell it. I can't exactly remember the smell, but it was different than pee.

So anyways, I put on a fresh pad, and NOTHING all day! Nothing. The pad was dry. I had no symptoms what so ever!! Then, It came to about 4:30 PM and I started feeling really wet down there. Like if my Period was on its heaviest day. Then I started feeling weird. Can't exactly describe the feeling, but it was weird. Like almost dizzy, but not really, and kinda like I was in a dream... So I went pee, and when I wiped, a whole bunch of clear liquid was on the toilet paper. That's when I figured maybe I should go in and get checked out. Turns out it was my waters.

So basically, all day there were no symptoms or feeling of leaking water. BUT keep an eye out for it.

Bugger so it could be then, lol!! I'm having some odd tightenings now just starting but not pain as such, I've been shaky today and feeling a little under the weather but saw midwife on friday for dizziness etc and everything was ok, she thought I was just tired. I feel odd though, cant see me sleeping soon
