UK ladies, requesting induction? (copying someones thread sorry)

There's a thread for US ladies about asking to be induced but it all works so differently over here so i was wondering whether you can ask to be induced either slightly before your due date or around your due date? Or do you have to have a valid medical reason to do this? I don't really have a valid reason i'm just very impatient and do NOT want to be pregnant any longer than my due date lol xxx

Watching this thread. My baby is already measuring ahead and I hope I can opt to be induced if he gets too big xo

Stalking this thread - although I have medical reasons for wanting to be induced early

I ve been referred to consultant next week to discuss induction due to severe SPD. . . no idea whether it ll be offered though - midwife seems to think so.

I don't think you can unless it's for medical reasons. I'm being induced on Sunday because i'll be 13 days overdue. They refused to do it before then

Ohhh Guess i'll just have to let nature take it's course then, better be a bloody quick course though
And wow if you're getting induced on the 27th that means there's a chance he could be born on the 29th Feb, baby will only have a birthday every 4 years on a leap year lol xxx

Generally women are only induced before their due date if they have a medical problem xx

Isn't there being induced and being induced though? Like don't they give you a sweep around your due date? Also there are different stages of being induced. Will they do the pessary before you are 12 days over? I really don't want to be left that long it would really worry me.
