Feeling down after 3d ultrasound

I had really been looking forward to my 3d/4d ultrasound today but by the end I was just wishing it would be over. When I first got there the lady commented on how small I was, and then when we took a look at baby she was all huddled up with her hands AND her feet in front of her face. The woman asked if I had been drinking water (I've been guzzling it!) because I guess there wasnt a ton of fluid.

We were able to get some really sweet 2D shots of her little face and saw that she was swallowing fluid and had these amazing Angelina Jolie lips lol. But we couldnt get anything in 3D, and when we listened to her heartbeat it was 167bpm, while its usually in the 140s to 150s.

Sorry for rambling here. I just left feeling like we were upsetting LO and now I'm worried she doesnt have enough fluid or isnt growing properly ugh

Edit: Added a pic. You can see her little nose and lips.

Don't feel so down. I went 2 separate times for 4d just to check the gender and I ended up being more worried each time after. I have an anterior placenta so the pictures looked weird and in any case I'm totally convinced that something is wrong because I feel like my bump isn't big enough, etc.

Maybe you can just ask your doctor about it? I know the 4D places don't do any "diagnostics" but maybe it will ease your mind if you mention their comments to your regular OB.

Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only person who's walked out from a 3d ultrasound not feeling warm and fuzzy. I have an anterior placenta too, I wonder if maybe that was part of the issue?

Unfortunately I just had my check-up yesterday so I won't be seeing my doctor again for another month, otherwise I would ask. For now I guess I will just keep chugging the water.

mines was exactly the same, I didn't get one of those cute 3d pictures of the baby's face. She had her legs and arms over her face the whole time, the woman doing the scan didnt seem to be interested, she just rushed us in and out again as quick as possible. I spent months getting excited about the scan then felt deflated afterwards, wish i hadn't have bothered

I'm sorry you had such a disappointing experience. I noticed that you said you'd just had a hospital appointment, I'm sure that if there was a problem then it would have been noticed there. Try not to worry about your fluid, I'm sure it is all fine

We had a 4D scan with DD and because we didn't get many pictures or much of a video they offered us a free return which we couldn't take as the place was in Glasgow and we live in Northern Ireland so instead they reduced the charge considerably to make up for it which I thought was really good as it wasn't their fault that she had her face buried into the placenta for most of it. Perhaps you should approach the place you used and see what they can do for you.

Thanks for the replies. The lady did make a good faith effort to get a face shot and actually went over the 20 minutes I'd paid for by about 10 minutes, plus she gave me a free CD of images because she felt bad. I thought about asking for a do-over but I don't think I really want to do it again if it's going to make me worry like this!

Our babys face was buried in the placenta so all the pics where bad.... mines anterior too. she tried for over an hour to get better pictures and knocked money off as she felt bad.
It wasn't her fault though.xxx
