IUGR- heart baby prayers needed- Big UPDATE PG3!

As Many of you are aware I'm carrying a delicate little CHD baby with a very unique complex heart condition which will retire a series of open heart surgeries upon being born.

I had two appts yesterday 1 for her heart which was great all going well much to her benefit which dr was really impressed about & 2nd for a growth scan....

She hasn't grown in two weeks on her abdominal circumfrence, OBGYN is relatively concernced as of her condition & has explained she has 1 week to put weight on & grow or they're doing an amnio to find out whats wrong.. it could be from her heart, a placenta issue, my blood clotting disorder, the fct I've had gastro, or she might have a chromosome issue very unlikey but possible.... They're talking about induction as well if she doesn't grow as it wouldn't be safe to stay in me and not grow...

she is only weighing in at 865grams = 1 pound 16ounces at 27weeks... is this normal?

I'm at a loss what to do, is there foods I can eat to help plump her up? Or vitamins or protein shakes?

She's too early to be born & if born before 34 weeks she won't survive she needs to weight over 2.5kgs to have a good possible chance of survival at the moment she is only 865grams!

I'm so scared now for her don't know what to do

Sending positive thoughts your way! I'd think anything with protein would be great. Peanut butter, protein shakes, even dairy. Keep us updated!

yes protien shakes mixed with whole milk should do . I would go with boost it's really good( chocolate is the best)i buy the powder i mix 3 scoops with 26 oz of whole milk lots of protien and good vitamins, but if it is a placenta issue then it would not matter what you eat as the placenta would not deliver these vitamins in a sufficent way. my prayers are with you hope lo gain weight so she can cook longer!

I would say go with protein shakes and eat fat! I have no medical knowledge, but would think eating good fats and proteins would benefit her! My thoughts are with you, and I'm sending hopeful positive vibes your way!

Oh goodness Im so sorry your in this situation. I just stopped and said a prayer for you.. I would just try to eat more throughout the day. Like someone said booste protein shakes are great, chocolate is my favorite. Turkey and chicken could get good foods to eat that are healthy but have some fat. Strawberries and cream cheese is healthy and the cream cheese adds some fat. Just try to eat good fats.

i hope everything turns good!

My thoughts are with you. I'm not a medical expert but if you've been poorly with gastro then surely this would have contributed to the lack of weight gain? And if this is the case then hopefully bubba will have double the growth spurt this week as she catches up on lost time. Think positive and eat well! Love and hugs x
