I've just been to my GP for my 32 week antenatal appointment and she said the baby was very low, and was 3/5 engaged. She said it didn;t mean early labour, as it's hard to predict as some babies bob in and out of engagement.
Anyone had an experience of this? Or should i prepare for an early arrival??!!
It happened to my neighbour.. Her baby engaged at about 28 weeks, so they all thought he was going to be early, but he was born at 39 weeks. Also, my SIL's baby's head was engaged at around 32 weeks and she's now nearly 37 so I don really think it means baby is any closer to coming.. Hope that helps. x x x
it just means the baby is in the right position and the babys head has to be engaged in order for it to come out. i was engaged at 36 weeks and altho they say it can pop in and out, mine didnt. i think it'll just get further down. keep squatting, going on all forus to encourage the head to stay in the right position.
hopefully by time baby is prepared he/she will be well engaged
Pip's been 3/5s engaged since 34 weeks and nothing yet honey,my sister had the same and gave birth yesterday - 2 days before her due date. It just means that they're all in position and know where the exit is!
I just found out my babys head is engaged! and well engaed to. She didnt say exactly I dont think she knew but I knew it had dropped as I could feel the pressure. Its made me feel better as its a start to getting somewhere.
I know it could still go over due but I hope not. I am just figuring out this engaging stuff here to. so this is why I have heavy dischsrge and peeing much more.
It just means that they are in the right position getting ready, Im 3/5 and from the feeling I got from the midwife and the questions she asked if ur losing ur plug at the same time its all looking good but I coukd be wrong
