Thanks for the replies

I do like Cáel, its a much better spelling thank you. I also love the fact that it was the name of a warrior in Willow- love love love that film

My OH is now being stroppy and only wants the name Tyler. Its not that I dislike the name, its just the fact he refuses to even consider anything else

Name source and history is a hobby of mine, and I can't say I've ever heard of Calen/Kalen or Kyran being real names. I only like the real ones
I agree with the above .

I am having a boy too. Every name sounds so cute on a little boy but you have to think that that boy will grow up to be a man one day. So when we were ruling out names I would say it and think of a cute little 5 year old boy and then say in a deep voice "Hi, my name is ____" and imagine a slightly balding 40 year old guy. If it passed the test it stayed on our list. However, several of my favorte names got knocked out by this test. Rylan was the funniest. Saying "Hi, my name is Rylan" in a deep man's voice while picturing a 40-yr old guy makes me laugh every time!
