Your little girl looks just beautiful to me.

What I can't understand is, if you opted out of the NT testing, why on earth would your sonographer be measuring the nuchal fold in the first place? As far as I know, the 20 week nuchal fold measurement isn't as accurate a marker as the 12 nuchal translucency. My OB doesn't even offer it. And your sonographer doing either one when you specifically said you didn't want to screen for DS makes no sense. Are they trying to worry you?

Exactly my thoughts. When i had my booking in app they said am i having downs screening told them no (didnt think i needed it, im 32) never even gave it a second thought. Then when we went for anomaly scan she said "just one slight deviation, the nuchal fold is thickened which can mean an abnormality" well as you can imagine i was devastated, was made an appointment the next day with my consultant who didnt really have much to say,= only that the results are vague and they will keep scanning me.

Well i have been scanned at 24 weeks where i was told the fold had reduced to 4.7mm and was well within parameters, and again at 28 weeks where she said "i cant see the fold because of where her head is, but it doesnt look thick"!!!

Im sure they just say some of these things to cover their own back, i mean, i declined the tests for a reason I DIDNT WANT TO KNOW and now they have ruined my pregnancy because im terrified of the day i have her.

I explained my concerns to my MW and actually broke down in tears, she was not the slightest bit worried, just said if she had downs the fold wouldnt reduce, but still doesnt ease my mind.

Sorry for rambling, they just really annoyed me telling me stuff like this xx

In my opinion your baby looks perfect and I can definitely see a nasal bone. The nuchal fold shouldn't be measured at 20 weeks it's the nuchal fluid level or something I heard (I refused all tests for downs as it doesn't matter to me either way and I didn't want to worry if I was 'increased' risk when there was nothing to worry about) anyway there was a trainee midwife at my 20 weeks scan and the MW scanning me said the nuchal mass number out loud! I was furious as I knew it was 'above normal' and complained about it as they shouldn't have even been measuring if they'd read my notes.

From my scans our baby looks fine and I'm honestly not worried about it. It's a tiny percentage. This is why I don't agree with the tests as they don't give a detonate yes or no and leave mums who couldnt face an amnio because of the risks months of worry. I honestly think your LO looks perfect x

I can definitely see beautiful nose . Its just perfect . I am sure you are worried ( I would be myself as I freak out about everything ,so I cannot imagine your situation ) , but try not to ,it is not good for your baby and as I said , I don't see any facial features of down's syndrome at your babys face
