First babies... 'usually late'..

How much truth in this??

People keep going on at me saying 'Don't worry, first babies are ALWAYS late' and I want to see if this was true for those who already have little ones

xx

I don't think this is true tbh, I was my Mums 1st and I was 5 weeks early.

Everyone is different, it all just depends on when baby is ready to put in an appearance

I don't know if this is true either...but so many people keep telling me I'm going to be late that I feel they're cursing me.

40 weeks due date is sorta arbitray as it's the average between 38-42 weeks...which is the most common time frame for delivery.

It's also arbitray because we can never have a truly accurate due date.

I've had plenty of friends deliver "early" and/or "on-time" with their first babies...so who knows.

I have a truly accurate due date, we had ICSI so there's absolutely no doubt when OH's little soldiers and my eggs were put together!!

My nephew was born just after 38 weeks and he was my sisters first so I'm not sure there's much truth in that saying...
